1798 Small brick building for County Clerk. 1804 Surrogate's addition built on northeast side. 1850 Design for new building by Philadelphia architect Gordon Parker Cummings. 1853 County Clerk & Surrogate building completion 36 x 48 Evidence of two later rear additions. 1968 County Clerk & Surrogate relocate to New Courthouse. 1978 Entrance atrium converted to two floors 1987 Building rehabilitation.
