C 1700-1800
The handsome pattern brickwork of this house is typical of the 18th century Salem County architecture. In addition to serving as a residence, these buildings once housed a temperance hotel and medical offices. John S. Rock, the first African-American attorney admitted to practice law before the U.S. Supreme Court, began his professional studies here prior to 1850.HM Number | HM1NX6 |
