801 Grand Avenue

In 1890, Dr, H.J. Conradt purchased two lots, where this building now stands, for $10 from the Home and Farm Company. In 1898, when John (Jean) Loustaunau decided to build his own hotel, saloon and restaurant, he and his wife purchased the lots from Dr. Conradt. The 40-by-80 foot building, constructed by Joseph Faggiano and named "The Club" by Loustaunau, was then, the largest recreation hall in the County. The Club held is grand opening on June, 10, 1899.
Fraternal groups, such as the Foresters, and the Druids, held meetings upstairs. Also known the "Loustaunau's Hall," the facility was used by many local organizations. The ladies of the Catholic Church gave a "Grand Fair" in the hall just before Thanksgiving 1904.
In 1924, the porch was removed and sometime after 1935, stucco was added to the exterior. Loustaunau's Hall was purchased by the Druids in 1937 where they continued to host meetings and events.
