Jewish Community Center
1926

Stockton's "Architect Laureate" Glen Allen designed this culturally important edifice. Built by Louis S. Peletz, it served the Stockton Jewish community and Temple Israel until 1964 when purchased by the Stockton Civic Theater. The building's style is essentially Romanesque revival with Byzantine touches. The synagogue adjacent on Madison Street was razed in 1967.
