Ancient Mounds Trail

Churupa Plantation Mound was built around AD 1000. The mound was constructed in a single episode on top of the remains of an earlier Indian village. Plowing has altered the original conical shape. Today, the mound is 7 feet tall and 150 by 125 feet at the base.Lower PlaqueThis archaeological site is on private property. Please view the site from the highway right-of-way.NO TRESPASSING
