Constructed on-site: 1955

Constructed using historic building materials, the Weaving Shop exhibits a variety of hand-spinning and weaving equipment and interprets American textile traditions practiced in a 19th-century weaving shop.
On view are processing tools, wool and flax wheels, several barn-frame looms, including a rare 1890s Jacquard model—the first machine to use punch cards to store intricate weaving patterns and sequence mechanical operations—and historic and contemporary examples of textiles such as blankets, coverlets, towels, tablecloths, and fabric yardage.
