Additional Information | The most powerful rocket engine ever built is on display here. It was originally displayed on Canoga Ave between Vanowen St and Victory Blvd, the former location of Rocketdyne. SSFL is six miles west of here, in the Santa Susana mountains. No longer in use as a test lab, and only open during occasional guided tours. When the AIAA marker was dedicated in 2001, a group of visitors (including me, -CB) had the opportunity to witness a rocket motor test. |
