Inscription
Final resting place of Chief Pathkiller (B. 1749 - D. 1827) who served as principal chief of the Cherokee Nation. Many prominent early settlers are also interred here including newspaper editor and publisher, Confederate infantry captain and colorful character, Lafayette Marion Stiff. As Mr. Stiff had requested, he was buried so he could watch the steamboats go by. Listed on the Alabama Historical Cemetery Register.
