Owl Drugs, Sherwin Williams Paints, Buddy's Bakery, Dance Studio, Co-op Offices and E.B. Rogers' Grocery Market have all occupied the commercial buildings on the eastern corner of the street. 822 Main Street was the residence of J.E. Kenny, earlier president of the Louisiana Polytechnic Institute in Ruston, Louisiana. In 1916 the Methodist Episcopal Church relocated to the 800 block. It was known as the little white church house and retained the pews and stained glass windows from the original church. Commercial buildings now stand on the site, including Carolyn Boyce Burkhalters Craft Shop and Lawrence's Bait Shop.
