Walker's Corps. - September 20, 1863.
Captain William H. Fowler, Commanding,
Wounded.

1st Lieutenant John Phelan.
1st Lieutenant Robert Perrin.
2nd Lieutenant N. Venable.
2nd Lieutenant William Dailey.


The battery followed the brigade coming into position on this ground on right of brigade and division where it was under a severe cross fire from several Union batteries and was finally flanked and compelled to retire. Before the battery was ordered to leave this position one section under Lieutenant Perrin engaged a Union battery on the right within short range doing it considerable damage as was subsequently ascertained. In returning one piece under Lieutenant Daily went farther to the right and joined a battery of General Forrest's and continued firing until the close of the battle. Casualties of the battle 8 men killed 1 officer and 17 men wounded 1 man missing 27 horses killed or disabled.
