Fayette Historic State Park

Fayette looks like a little Chicago this week; the harbor is full of boats and business is brisk.Schoolcraft County Pioneer1881
Four warehouses stood on a wharf off this point of land. Vessels like the steam barge Fayette imported general supplies, machinery, and bricks to Fayette and departed with cargoes of charcoal iron.
The Jackson Iron Company fleet included two schooners, the steam tugs Rummage and Jo. Harris, and several ore barges.
