Grammy Award winning singer Marty Robbins wanted also to be a movie cowboy. He made several competent westerns including "Buffalo Gun," "The Badge of Marshal Brennan," "Guns of a Stranger" and "Raiders of Old California" shot right here in Kanab. Marty passed away at a young age, but his tremendous voice lives on in recordings and theme songs for numerous top western films including Gary Cooper's "The Hanging Tree."
