Utah's Little Hollywood
—Kanab Utah "Walk of Fame" —One of the world's most admired and respected actors, Sidney Poitier, has graced the screen in such films as "A Patch of Blue", "In the Heat of the Night", and "They Call Me Mr. Tibbs". Sidney is an academy award winner, and only did a few westerns in his illustrious career. The best one, "Duel at Diablo", was shot right here in Kanab, in 1966 for United Artists. Ralph Nelson directed and Sidney's co-stars were James Garner, Dennis Weaver, Bibi Anderson, and Bill Travers.
