Utah's Little Hollywood

—Kanab Utah "Walk of Fame" —

In the late 1940's Virgil was hired to cook at Parry Lodge. Parry's was the place to be during the movie making era. He served in the army from 1943 — 1945. He was hired back to Parry's to cater for the movie crews, on locations in the Kanab area. Around 1950 he opened Virgil's Cafe & Bakery. He continued catering for the movies for the next 20 years.
Virgil was known for his delicious doughnuts, chicken and dumplings, and big heart. Virgil's advice: "Don't give up - just keep trying."
Virgil was very instrumental in the "Little Hollywood Film" era.
