Died November 28, 2006 due to a spinal cord injury caused by a car-bike crash at this crossing, October 29, 2006.
The white "ghost bike" has been
standing watch as a memorial to Alan since 2007, awaiting the current design to be installed in 2016!
The New York Capital Region has lost 15 cyclists to bike-car crashes in the last 15 years. Across the nation more that 600 cyclists are killed on the road every year accident sites marked by a "ghost bike" remind us that
cyclists have a legal right to use public roadways
