—Fleetwood Hill —


George C. Hupp, Sergeant in K Company,
8th Illinois Cavalry, was wounded at Brandy
Station Battlefield on June 9, 1863. In his
Memory Great-Great-Great Grandson William J.
Hupp, Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Happily made a
leadership contribution to the preservation
and restoration of this crucial portion of
Fleetwood Hill. With profound gratitude, The
Civil War Trust erects this marker on behalf
of future generations, who will be able to
visit this hallowed ground and better
understand the experience of the brave
Cavalry Troopers who fought there.
