This building (1911-12) was designed by Vonnegut & Bohn for the oldest and largest dry goods firm in the Wholesale District. Established in 1867, Hibben, Hollweg & Company carried a wide range of foreign and domestic dry good and notions (miscellaneous small items) including curtains, window shades, floor coverings, linens, woolens, hosiery, and its own line of clothing. The company operated on this site from 1871 until 1936.
