Forest Park

The Missouri History Museum, originally built as the first national monument to Thomas Jefferson, engages visitors in the exciting history of St. Louis from its founding in 1764 up to the present day. Visitors of any age can enjoy a variety of exhibitions, galleries and activities. See the Spirit of St. Louis—sister plane to Lindbergh's, marvel at the magnitude of the 1904 World's Fair, and more. Free admission, fee for some exhibitions.

Bixby's restaurant serves lunch daily and features panoramic views of Forest Park. The Museum Shop is a wonderful source for books and gifts.

The Jefferson Memorial Building opened to the public on May 1, 1913. The statue of Thomas Jefferson is carved from a single block of Italian marble, stands nearly 20 feet tall and weighs approximately 48 tons.
