As a founding member of the Friends of Cincinnati Parks, Donald Spencer worked tirelessly through the decades to secure funding to sustain and beautify our beloved parks. He is well known as a advocate of free and open access to one of this city's true treasures— the remarkable Krohn Conservatory. A champion of education, Mr. Spencer was a public school teacher, a member of the Walnut Hills High School Foundation, and President of the Board of Ohio University. Mr. Spencer was the first African-American broker of the Board of Realtors, and a past president of the Cincinnati Association of Real Estate Brokers. In recognition of this great Cincinnatian and for the time he has given to this great city and its parks, the Board of Park Commissioners dedicate the Donald A. Spencer Overlook, June 30, 2002.
