The Alpha Chi Chapter of Sigma Chi at Penn State University was founded on May 27, 1891, and is the third oldest fraternity at Penn State. The Chapter's first house was on South Allen Street (1891-1905).

In 1906, the construction of the Chapter's second house was completed on this site and was occupied 1906-1972. In 1972, the fraternity moved into its current house on the corner of South Garner Street and East Prospect Avenue.
