William Grayson, lawyer, member of the Continential Congress, Constitutional Convention and U.S. Senate, is buried nearby on property formerly part of "Belle Air," the family plantation. In 1774, Grayson organized Prince William County's first Revolutionary Militia unit. He commanded a Virginia regiment and served as aide-de-camp to Washington.
