1800 Sesquicentennial 1950
— Savannah, Georgia —On November 26, 1800 the Reverend Henry Holcombeand fifteen other Baptists organized the SavannahBaptist Church. As early as 1795 a group of interestedBaptists had erected a house of worship on FranklinSquare where the congregation worshipped forthirty-three years. The Sunday School was organizedthere on April 29, 1827.
