So called from its nearness to the Brainerd Mission to the Cherokee, this ridge was the scene of the final and conclusive action in the series of battles which drove the Confederates from the Chattanooga area. After first clearing a line of riflepits at the foot. Federal troops charged up the slopes of the ridge, driving the Confederates from their entrenchments at the top.HM Number | HM91G |
