Earlysville Union Church is a rare survivingearly-19th-century interdenominational churchconstructed in Albemarle County. Built in1833, this frame structure served as ameetinghouse for all Christian denominationson land deeded by John Early, for whomEarlysville is named. This building providedan early home for several local congregationsof the Baptist, Methodist, and Presbyterianfaiths. The church is an excellent example ofthe 19th-century public architecture of ruralPiedmont Virginia. It was listed on the VirginiaLandmarks Register and the National Registerof Historic Places in 1997.
