In 1798 Samuel Fulton and his father John, soldiers of the American Revolution, his mother Jane Dills Fulton, brother Thomas, brother-in-law Christopher Huston and their families, made the first permanent settlement on the bank of the Ohio River in present Rising Sun.The Fultons migrated from Pa. And were co-founders of the First Presbyterian Churches in Lancaster, Pa. and Rising Sun, Ind. Samuel and Robert Fulton, the inventor, were cousins.In 1811 Samuel moved to this farm.
