St. Helena's Parish was established June 7, 1712by act of Provincial Assembly. First rector,The Rev. William Guy, was appointed 1713; Glebe lands of 50 acres provided 1717.Original church erected 1724; Enlarged1770 and 1817 when present size wasestablished and galleries added; Rebuilt 1842.
Alter silver given in 1734 by Capt. John Bullin memory of his wife, massacred by indians.
Amoung the notables buried in the church yardare 2 British Revolutionary officers and3 American generals. The oldest marked graveis dated 1724.
