Construction on this adobe home on Madison Avenue began in the 1870's. Pioneer merchant E, F. Sanguinetti purchased the two-room house with its lean-to kitchen in 1890. The building, gardens, and aviaries were developed by Sanguinetti who resided here until 1946. Converted into a museum in 1963, the house exemplifies the architecture and furnishing of southern Arizona residences during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Today known as the Century House, it is a branch museum of the Arizona Historical Society.
