Inscription
Leavenworth in the eighteen sixties and seventies was a bustling boom town. River boats arrived almost daily and railroads were extending west and north carrying settlers, their property and supplies. Later three railroads built passenger stations but the largest and finest was the Union Station built in 1887.

When passenger travel slowed in 1963 the station was purchased by V.B. Greenamyre as the headquarters for his enterprises.
