Moswetuset Hummock was the seat of Chickatawbut, Sagamore of the Massachusetts Indians; adjoining were their planting grounds. "Massachusetts" means "at the Great (Blue) Hills." With Chickatawbut Governor Winthrop made a treaty which was never broken.HM Number | HMWX7 |
