From D-Day, 6 June 1944, until VE Day, 8 May 1945, the men of the 91st Troop Carrier Squadron, flying unarmed transport aircraft and gliders, launched paratroopers and glider-borne assault troops to penetrate Hitler's "Fortress Europa" and assure the defeat of his armies.

Campaigns: Rome-Arno; Normandy; Northern France; Southern France; Rhineland; Ardennes-Alsace; Central Europe.

Decorations: Distinguished Unit Citation; French Croix de Guerre with Palm; French Fourragere.
