Built famous cabin, intimately associated there with Mark Twain and Gillis' Bros. Member Tuol. Lodge No. 8, F. & A. M. Just and fair, settled miner's disputes, helped his fellowmen and community. Famed as "Dick Baker", in Twain's "Roughing It". Hero in "Jaybird and the Acorn" , "Burning Shame" etc.
