In took one word to describe the Coalinga Carnegie Library - "Beautiful"

Carnegie, Andrew, 1839-1919 American industrialist and philanthropist, born in Scotland.
Walter Ochs was the successful bidder at $15,797.00. The architects Swarts, Horchkin & Swarts of Fresno.
The library was sixty-five feet by fifty-five feet in size with a full basement. The basement had a cement floor, which was a lecture room, men's study room, classroom, cataloguing room and furnace room.
The main or library floor was polished oak and contained a reading room, reference room, study room, children's room, stack room and delivery room.
The roof was Spanish tile with a wide projecting cornice. There was a fireplace in the men's study room in the basement and a fireplace in the reading room on the main floor.
