This log building depicts a small blacksmith shop in the 1800's. A blacksmith created tools, railings, fences, horseshoes, weapons and cooking utensils and was an important and necessary part of pioneer life. Anthony Ward was a wheelwright and blacksmith who fixed wagons for travelers along the Oregon Trail. This log building was built in 1873.HM Number | HM186Z |
