Maryland's Indian
This monument, representing the Assateague Indian, was sculptured by Peter Toth and given to the people of Maryland as a gift. Toth is presently sculpturing an Indian monument in each of the fifty states, to pay homage to his heritage and to raise the nation's consciousness as to the plight of the Native Americans.The monument carved from 100 year old oak was completed in 1976.HM Number | HM199L |
