Capt. Pichegru Woolfolk, Jr.

Part of S.D. Lee's Battalion, Woolfolk's battery supported the Confederate efforts on the northern end of the battlefield. When the fighting in the Cornfield was at its worst, Woolfolk moved to this advanced position where the 28th Pennsylvania Infantry captured two of their guns.

In addition to Woolfolk, twelve other Union and Confederate batteries tried to hold this high ground throughout the day.
