According to the NHBS Sam Houston's cabin was shown north of the railroad that runs to Fort Gibson and other reading indicated it was approximately 3 miles from there. Why therefore is the marker on Highway 69 south of the railroad and on the Arkansas River instead of Neosho River?
Does anyone really know what happened to this important structure which stood until at least after 1935?
