Ancient Mounds Trail
Marksville is a ceremonial center with two earthen ridges enclosing seven mounds. Indians built these earthworks between 100 BC and AD 400. During that time, the site covered 200 acres and included other earthworks that are now destroyed. The pottery here is very similar to the Hopewell in Ohio and Illinois.HM Number | HM1UCJ |
