A detachment of the battery, under Lieut. Christopher C. Scott served one 3-inch rifle in this position, Third Louisiana Redan, from May 18 to the end of the defense, July 4, 1863. Casualties in battery during the defense: killed 4, wounded 5. Total 9, Capt. William n. Hogg and Lieut. Robert S. Walker killed: Lieut. Christopher C. Scott wounded on duty in this position, June 25.
