161st New York Infantry Regiment

Union Battery No. 4, commanded by Captain Benjamin S.
Harrower of the 1st Indiana Heavy Artillery Regiment,
contained a 30-pounder Parrott rifle aimed at Bennett''s
Redoubt. This cannon had a range of up to 6,700 yards, or
4 miles. Federal infantrymen acted as support troops for
this and other siege batteries.
