Weinberg Center for the Arts
The mighty Wurlitzer organ gave voice to the silent screen when the Tivoli Movie Theater opened at 20 West Patrick Street in 1926. One of the great Art Deco movie palaces in the US, the "Jewel of Frederick," with its Italian mosaics, marble and silk wall coverings, velvet chairs and crystal chandeliers, was the first building in Frederick to be air conditioned. Today known as the Weinberg Center for the Arts, the theater is home to professional music, dance, theater, classic movies and family entertainment.
