September 20, 1863. 2 p.m., 2d Position.
24th Illinois - Colonel Geza Mihalotzy.
24th Illinois - Captain August Mauff.
79th Pennsylvania - Colonel Henry A. Hambright.
1st Wisconsin - Lieutenant Colonel George B. Bingham.
21st Wisconsin - Lieutenant Colonel Harrison C. Hobart.
21st Wisconsin - Captain Charles H. Walker.
Indiana Light 4th Battery - Lieutenant Henry J. Willits


Baird's Division, upon withdrawing from the lines of its morning fighting, was assembled on this ground about 2 p.m. Toward 4 o'clock this Brigade with Scribner's was sent forward to support Johnson's Division then in isolated position much in advance of the general line. This took the Brigade over the line of its morning engagement, and many of its wounded were recovered. At dusk both Brigades were involved in the night attack of Cleburne's Division.
