Milwaukee Braves, 1956-1960

Spent first five seasons of seven-year Major League career with the Milwaukee Braves. Enjoyed two best seasons in pennant-winning years of 1957 and 1958, batting .272 and .309, respectively. In same years, led National League first basemen in fielding. Slugged two home runs in the 1957 World Series despite hitting just 13 home runs in 1,482 career at bats. On September 2, 1957, tied Major League record by scoring six runs in a game as the Braves beat the Cubs, 23-10, Milwaukee's highest score ever. One of five Braves to play every game of the 1957 and 1958 World Series. Younger brother Joe Torre also played for the Braves from 1960 to 1965.
