At this point occurred the defeat of ColonelBreyman, who commanded a force of 600 men sentby General Burgoyne to reinforce Colonel Baum. Colonel Seth Warner and his regiment of VermontRangers "Green Mountain Boys" distinguishedthemselves in this action.
