Labored in Mexico and Baja, California until 1775. Spent 10 years at Mission San Diego.

Selected 2nd Presidente of the Missions succeeding Fr. Serra.
Established 9 missions, including San Fernando.

Buried at Carmel in 1803. R.I.P.
