Tommy Lasorda was a pitcher for the Greenville Spinners in 1949. Best known for his managerial career, Lasorda's baseball roots are here in Greenville. His 21-year career includes 1,599 wins and 2 World Series championships. In 1997 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
