320 W. Miner St.

Construction date of this building is unknown, but the New England Bakery and Temperance House was operating her as early as 1855. With a typical "false front," the sidewalls are common to adjoining structures, but the building's width often accommodated two businesses. Shade trees were planted in front in 1871. One partnership, which added wallpaper and elegance to the interior, served coffee and hot toast every morning at six a.m. Eventually the numerous bakery businesses, saloon, and grocery stores vanished, but the Yreka Seed and Grain Company moved in and served the community for many years before the space was converted to an appliance store.
