September 20, 1863.

The Battery occupied a position north of Reed's Bridge road and west of this glade, northwest of this ground on the right of Huggins' and Morton's Batteries, and was actively engaged soon after noon in shelling the advance of General Granger's Corps, moving to the support of General Thomas.
McCook's Brigade of this force remained to face the Confederates while the other two after some delay proceeded rapidly to join Thomas on Snodgrass Hill. About 5:30 p.m. the Battery in a line of 14 guns opened destructive fire on the enemy who was retiring toward McFarland's Gap, maintaining the fire until about sunset, when the fighting ended on this flank.
The Battery remained on the field during the night, the men being without rations and the horses having received only a partial feed once during the two days. Casualties not given.
