Ernest H. "Dick" Hartge started building boats at Galesville, on the West River in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, in the 1920s. He later acquired a fleet of hire boats built and formerly owned by Ed Leatherbury of nearby Shadyside. Hartge moved to Eustis, Florida, in 1961 where he continued to build boats along traditional Chesapeake lines.HM Number | HM2K4W |
